Behold! My glorious shoes! I can wear them like a champ! |
Monday was a day that started in a rather blah manner. I was
still recovering from my holiday stomach bug, which has caused me to not be
very hungry, and to feel very full as soon as I’ve eaten. However, I have been
able to do something miraculous with
my recovery: I am using my stomach virus
recovery as a way to “reset” my stomach and trick it into knowing when it’s
full, which means, basically teaching it to be someone else’s stomach. You
know, kind of like when you have to restart your computer because something all
virusy is happening, and when you turn it off and turn it back on everything is
okay?
Well, since my virus, I can’t eat past when I am full
because my stomach hurts, and, while In don’t want my stomach to hurt every
time I eat, I am hoping that it can learn that it is okay to stop eating
because there will be food again. I mean, seriously, you would think I was
raised with 15 siblings where I had to fight for every morsel of food I ever
got, the way I can shovel it in. Things are going well, though, because
yesterday I was able to only eat what I wanted at breakfast, lunch, and dinner,
and also, I only had two fun size candy bars in between! It was a truly wondrous
thing to behold!
Today, I am
experiencing a miracle of fashion! I am wearing the most awesome shoes I have
purchased in the recent past, and they have pretty tall wedge heels, and I am
walking in them like a pro! I am all sashaying around like I own the place
and everything, rather than tottering about like a four-year-old in dress-up
heels, or like a centenarian with a cane or something. It is very empowering to
be able to walk around in heels without fear of death or mortal injury. It sure
has upped my confidence level!
Plus, if this skill proves to generalize to other types of
heeled shoes, then a whole new avenue of fashion choices is opening up for me!
For some reason I am not getting blisters today, which is a miracle in and of
itself, but ask me again at the end of the day if you want to know for sure. I
might even be able to wear a pair of heels that aren’t wedges or platforms
sometime! I also like that when I wear heels, it makes me almost six feet tall,
because I particularly enjoy being as tall as or taller than many of the men I
encounter on a daily basis. If I ever decide to date again, I will either need
to find a tall man or one that doesn’t mind wearing lifts in his shoes, but I
guess a man who is the same height as me when I wear heels would be okay, if he’s
not weird about it or anything, because I am going to continue to wear heels
from now until the end of time. Plus, since I may not ever date again, it
shouldn’t be a problem anyway. Onward and upward!
